What Buyers Should Include When Requesting Custom Copper Sleeves

Custom copper sleeves usually look simple on a drawing, but small details decide whether the quote is useful. For RFQs, buyers should list outside diameter, inside diameter, wall thickness, length, chamfer, flange size and any press-fit requirement. If the sleeve is used near a sensor or conductive assembly, the material grade and surface finish should also be stated early.

For automotive and electronics projects, tolerance stack-up is often more important than the sleeve itself. A clear drawing should show which diameter controls alignment, which face controls seating, and whether burr control is required after turning. This helps the machining team review tooling, inspection method and realistic lead time before quoting.

Weeda Precision supports copper, brass, bronze, aluminum and stainless steel sleeve parts made to drawing. For new projects, a short note about application, annual quantity and assembly method can reduce back-and-forth and make the first quotation more practical.
